“The chemistry betweenMr Bachchan and me in the song is very direct and in your face and all there.It’s a very contemporary picturization (it would be daft to duplicate theoriginal!) wherein the character is teasing him and amused at the difficult timeshe’s giving him.
When Iam serenading Mr Bachchan, even if it’s on screen, I mean do I have to sayanything? I was nervous the morning of the shoot given it was my first timeworking with Mr Bachchan and when he met me, he said,‘Kabhi kabhimere dil mein khyal aata hai ki mein aapke jaise dikhoo aurnaachoo’ and put me at easeimmediately.

“I find it beyondamazing that it’s such a big deal that Ramu and I are working together. Wehave done some great work earlier and we want to do something worth our whileand theMehboobasong was worth every bit. So, we worked together. It’s a legendary songand easily the best song in every which way of Indian cinema. I have danced tothis song a million times behind the screen and it was my biggest high toperform on screen! Dancing is something that comes naturally to me —it’s just not work for me. “I havemade it a habit to walk for Manish and it’s a pleasure each time. Theghagra was so heavy that even if I had died, I would have made a pretty pictureof death! Something like the bride in theGuns ‘n’Roses November Rain video! I want to seethe woman who buys it and walks two steps in it, forget a ramp! It’sunderstood that Manish will design my wedding dress (when and how it happens)and after seeing all these heavy creations, I have told him to make me aswarovski studded pair of shorts for the same,” shelaughs.
